Domain Name Transfers

Can I transfer my existing domain name to you?

Yes. While it is possible (and fairly common) for people to just point their existing domain name to our web hosting servers, ServerGrade does full domain name transfers as well.

Doing a full domain name transfer to our servers allows the one business to manage both your domain name and hosting. This is a major advantage for clients as it becomes significantly easier to diagnose any problems with the domain name.

To transfer your domain name to ServerGrade you follow these steps:

  • Domains ending in .com, .net, or .org need to be "unlocked" by the existing domain name registrar. This is easy to do and usually available from the control panel they provide you.
  • Contact ServerGrade and let us know the domain name you would like to transfer.
  • Wait for us to get back to you quickly and provide a domain name transfer payment link or total.
  • We will then get back to you to confirm the transfer has taken place.

The pricing of domain name transfers is the same as that for new domain registrations.

Please note that domain names generally cannot be transferred if they are within 10 days of expiry, or have just expired recently. Transfers need to take place before this occurs.

See further domain name FAQs or our FAQ categories for more information.

Please contact us if you have a question that is not answered on our site.
