Email Limitations
Is email limited in any way?
The use of email is basically unlimited, but we do have
some restrictions in order to ensure that everyone gets to use the
server in a fair and impartial manner.
To reduce the potential for our mail servers to be used
for SPAM, we restrict the amount of emails you can send to 100 per
hour. This policy doesn't affect normal use for anyone, but does help
keep us off any blacklists.
The other minor restriction is the number of accesses
to the mail server in an hour. We limit people to checking their email
a maximum of 30 times an hour. This means that POP3 email clients like
Outlook Express need to have their checking time set to a minimum of 2
minutes.
Many of our clients have informed us that they found
their bandwidth usage was lower, and their dial-up Internet connection
faster with a reduced setting.
