Domain name registrars

A domain name registrar is an organisation (usually a commercial business) that has the ability to sell domain names.

ServerGrade sells domain names with our web hosting plans and on their own, so if you purchase your domain name with us, then we are your domain name registrar.

To be an official registrar, the organisation must be accredited by the regulatory body ICANN (Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers). This helps to ensure that all registrars are well managed.

Every website has purchased their domain name through a registrar, as it is an essential part of the process of getting a site published.
