Denying an IP Address access in cPanel Flash Tutorial

The ability to deny an IP address access to your site allows webmasters greater control over the security of their site. Denying an IP can be useful in:

• Blocking IPs where past security attacks have originated from
• Banning unwanted visitors (especially desirable with website forums)
• Blocking email harvesters
• Restricting unwanted search engine spiders

Once blocked, visitors (or robots) originating from a blocked IP will not be sent any pages, images, or files from your account. Naturally, you can also remove an IP address for your block list as appropriate.
