Managing Raw Logs in cPanel Flash Tutorial

Raw logs are files detailing technical information on every request made from your website.

When ServerGrade displays your statistics from AWStats, Webalizer, or Analog, these programs are displaying information from the raw access logs in graphical format. By using cPanel's Raw Log Manager to save your log files into your webspace, you may download your logs for processing by your own statistics package on your computer.

Other uses for your raw logs include helping to diagnose the cause of any errors in your site, and investigating any attempted attacks on the security of your website.

Because your raw logs may use a considerable amount of disk space on your account if you have a busy site, the Raw Log Manager also includes the option of having the server remove old logs at the end of each month.

The following flash tutorial guides you through enabling raw logs in cPanel control panel.

See further cPanel Flash tutorials or our support pages for more information. The answers to general and pre-purchase questions can be seen in our FAQ.

Please contact us if you have a question that is not answered on our site.
